Types of Parks

RVs - Almost without exception, all of the parks listed accommodate RVers/campers traveling in their own or rented recreational vehicles or RVs.Some parks may accommodate every size, shape and style of RV while others may have limitations on the sizes that can comfortably be accommodated. If you are driving or towing a large rig, or if you have slideouts, be sure to check that the park you’ve selected can handle your equipment. Listings on this site will indicate big rig sites, but it is always a good idea to call ahead.

Tents - Most of the parks listed here welcome tenters and many have set aside special areas that have extra appeal for tenters. There may be a few campgrounds listed that exclusively serve tenters.

Camping Cabins - Many campgrounds and RV parks listed offer camping cabins that can be rented for any length of stay. Camping cabins typically are one or two rooms; some may have a full or half modest bathroom, and generally come equipped with beds, a table and chairs, usually a small porch and a fire ring and picnic table. Guests are expected to provide their own sleeping bags or linens and cooking gear. Some parks do rent some or all of the necessities to enjoy a camping cabin stay. These cabins are great for new campers, friends of RVers or tenters who do not have their own camping equipment, or those who just prefer not to have to set up a tent.

On-Site Trailer Rentals - Many parks offer travel trailers already set up on a campsite and fully equipped for guests to enjoy the RV experience even if they don’t own their own rig. These RVs usually accommodate up to 6 people, include full bathroom facilities and can be rented for any length of stay. Be sure to check with the park about linens, towels, eating utensils, etc. since the inclusion of these items varies from park to park.

Park Models - Park models are the largest type of recreational vehicle and many RV parks and campgrounds offer these fully furnished, comfortable units for rent. Most can easily accommodate 4 people and many have lofts or a second bedroom, which increases the number of people who can be accommodated. As with trailer rentals, always check about the amenities and supplies included with the park model.

Cabins - Many parks offer fully furnished log cabins complete with one or two bedrooms, a living room, small kitchenette, bathroom and porch. These units are often fully equipped with linens, towels, kitchen utensils and all the amenities you’d expect to find in this type of accommodation. Again, always check ahead.

A word about pricing...
RV park and campground accommodations are available in many different price ranges, depending on location, length of stay and time of year, type of accommodation, recreational facilities, guest amenities, and levels of park design and services.
