Rustic mountain setting amid Oak Trees, located at the base of Palomar Mountain. Most sites have shade and have room for RV or tent camping. Beautiful views overlooking the Pauma Valley. Close to casinos and Palomar Observatory. Minutes from fishing and hiking trails. Family friendly atmosphere.
Directions: North Directions: From the North (i.e., Los Angeles) - Take Highway 15 South to Highway 76. East on Highway 76 - 21 miles to South Grade Road (S-6) - left at South Grade Road - Campground is first driveway on the left. When you get onto Highway 76, you will pass the Pala Indian Casino, then you will go through Pauma Valley (past the first Jilberto's Taco Shop). As you come out of Pauma Valley, Highway 76 curves around to the left. You'll see a sign that says Palomar Mountain 14 miles. Stay on Highway 76. There is a market call the Stage Shop and the second Jilberto's Taco Shop on the left. Go another 5 miles until you come to a large green highway sign that says Palomar Mountain and Lake Henshaw. Below that sign there is a smaller brown sign that says Oak Knoll Campground. Go left at the fork just past those signs. We're the first driveway on the left.

Oak Knoll Campground is a family recreational destination park. We are located on beautiful Palomar Mountain nestled among giant old California Live Oak trees. The air is clean and the water is some of the purest in the world. We are minutes away from the famous Hale Observatory which offers free daily tours. Bring your telescope. We have world class star gazing. You can see the Milky Way with your bare eyes. Rest, relax and just enjoy nature.
