    Custer County Historical Society, Inc.
    In our museum you’ll find exhibits that provide a glimpse into 19th century life in Custer County. For example, a wonderful bit of Americana can be seen in the museum’s large front room–a recreation of the Wescott, Gibbons, and Bragg General Merchandise Store of Comstock, Nebraska-complete with the most of the store’s original display cases and merchandise.

    Museum of the Fur Trade
    The Museum of the Fur Trade combines an outstanding collection and scholarship to interpret the story of the fur trade, the non-profit museum’s exhibits discuss the fur trade from early colonial days to the present century. The exhibits trace the everyday lives of British, French, and Spanish traders, voyageurs, mountain men, professional buffalo hunters, and typical Plains and Woodland Indians. Exhibits include the entire range of trade goods, including munitions, cutlery, axes, firearms, textiles, costumes, paints, and beads.

    Fremont Dinner Train
    The goal of the Fremont Dinner Train is to send you back into the 1940’s era. You will be exposed to 1940 music and scenery, while on an elegant 18 mile round trip departing from Fremont. Friday and Saturday nights, are the two evening runs that are more formal and romantic. While on the Sunday afternoon dinner runs, you can enjoy a more casual outing.

    Wildlife World
    Wildlife World is just what the name suggests: A world with a collection of over 500 wild animals from seven continents of pre-historic animals, birds, butterflies and other species natural to the western Nebraska area. Housed by the WyoNebraska Natural History Association, the museum is a Wildlife Theatre…an Educational Display… with Fossils and a pre-historic replica of a hornless rhinoceros of the extinct Baluchithere (Ba lu-ka-thir).

    Nebraska Prairie Museum
    The Nebraska Prairie Museum, located in Holdrege, Nebraska, contains an exceptionally fine collection of over one acre of indoor exhibits. Once inside, you get a feeling of spaciousness as you view collections of period clothing, antique toys, farm equipment, tools and household items, a unique W.W.II German POW exhibit room, and much more!

    The Pioneer Village
    The largest private collection of Americana anywhere.  The Pioneer Village complex comprises 28 buildings on 20 acres housing over 50,000 irreplaceable items of historical value, restored to operating order, arranged in groups and also in the chronological order of their development.

    Omaha Community Playhouse
    The Playhouse features two state-of-the-art performance spaces – the 601-seat Mainstage Auditorium and the intimate Howard Drew Theatre. Added in 1986, the Howard Drew Theatre is a “black box” theatre, which allows for more progressive productions. Depending on the production’s specific scenic/stage requirements, the Howard Drew Theatre’s flexible risers allow for audiences of between 200 and 230.
