More dining options exist than ever before for campers. Sure you can still roast a hot dog over a campfire, but you can also indulge in expertly prepared meals that range from retro comfort foods to local favorites to exotic dishes. Here's a list of some of our favorite restaurant-campground mashups that will give you a dining experience in the midst of a camping adventure.

  1. Old Quarry Ocean Adventures in Stonington, Maine – Savor fresh lobster every day at this kayaker's paradise with access to more than 60 forested islands. You can enjoy the feast on the deck overlooking the ocean or get it to go and dine at your campsite.

  2. Linger Lodge Restaurant and Campground in Bradenton, Fla. - In addition to serving standard seafood favorites, such as calamari and coconut shrimp, Linger Lodge Restaurant also serves Cajun style crawfish, frog legs, fried green tomatoes, gumbo and fresh Florida alligator.

  3. The Evergreens Campground & Restaurant in Solon, Maine - You won’t go hungry thanks to this campground’s restaurant, which features a well-rounded menu including burgers, meatloaf, chicken, pork chops as well as vermicelli marinara and vermicelli with meatballs. Even your pickiest eaters won’t be able to resist.

  4. Hagerstown KOA in Williamsport, Md. - Get your fix for '50s-style diner food with favorites including root beer floats, banana splits, malts and brownie sundaes. During peak season, the menu includes hamburgers, pizza, southern or spicy chicken wings, salads, steamed shrimp and homemade crab cakes. Wake up to a breakfast menu of fluffy pancakes and overstuffed omelets.

  5. Kamp Klamath in Klamath, Calif. - Camping is hard work, so this campground offers all-you-can-eat salmon or chicken barbecues on Saturday nights during the summer months. Meals come with rice pilaf, stir fry vegetables and fresh salad, picked fresh from the campground’s garden.

  6. Lake in Wood Campground in Narvon, Pa. - Located in the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Lake in Wood is known as the “Home to the Gnomes” and features the very unique Gnome Cafe, a charming eatery where gnomes come out of their hiding to entertain the resort guests. The restaurant serves special breakfast dishes as well as themed dinners, which could vary from a pig roast to a German themed sausage fest with German potato salad to standard prime rib dinners. Other dinner specials have ranged from tacos to all you-can-eat chicken wings to Hawaiian pork.

  7. Lakeview Restaurant & Camping Resort in St. Agatha, Maine. - If you're a meat-and-potatoes kind of person, this family style restaurant has a complete menu of steak and seafood dishes to dine to every night along with a full-service bar. In the mornings, campers can enjoy the all-you-can-eat breakfast for under $9.

  8. Mio Pine Acres in Mio, Mich. - Want to enjoy a true local joint during your trip? Stop by Mio Pine Acres’ hand-tossed pizza parlor, which draws at least as much business from the city of Mio as it does from visiting campers.

  9. Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina in Newport Beach, Calif. - Home of the Back Bay Bistro, the menu features extensive, upscale breakfast, lunch and dinner options as well as a Sunday brunch and holiday specials. Breakfast and brunch menus include eggs Benedict, eggs Florentine, omelets, pancakes and french toast. Lunch and dinner menu items range from portabello mushroom sandwiches to Baja fish tacos, salmon burgers and gourmet dishes, such as steak au poive, Hawaiian teriyaki steak and baked sole.

  10. Schatzi’s 4 Seasons Resort in Gordon-Wascott, Wis. - This park, located in Wisconsin’s North Woods, is home to the famed “The Golden Chipmunk Bar & Grill,” a 60-seat restaurant that is very popular with local residents and visitors alike. Favorite dishes include barbecued pork ribs, half-pound hamburgers and Friday night fish fries.

  11. Sunset Lakes Resort in Hillsdale, Ill. - This park’s grill offers a full range of comfort food, including oven-baked chicken, tenderloins, jerked pork, prime rib and steaks. The grill also handles special menus for large groups, including weddings, rallies and retirement parties.

  12. Thunder Bay Resort in Millman, Mich. - In the summer, enjoy a four-hour, world class gourmet dining and wine tasting experience at this park, followed by a horse-drawn carriage ride through a 130-acre elk preserve. Winter visitors can also indulge in the dining experience, capped off with a sleigh ride.

  13. Wisconsin Riverside Resort in Spring Green, Wis. - Home to the Shifflet’s Bar & Riverside Grill, campers get amazing views of the Wisconsin River while savoring classics like steaks and pizza. Stop by on Friday nights for fish fry events or Saturdays for the prime rib dinners.
