Park Information
Located on the San Lorenzo River and nestled in the redwood forest of the Santa Cruz Mountains, 6 miles from downtown Santa Cruz, is the perfect base camp for your family adventures. Santa Cruz County is one of the few places where a hiking journey can begin in an old growth redwood forest, wind past graceful waterfalls and end on a pristine beach. It contains 14 state parks with hundreds of miles of hiking, horseback riding, and mountain bike riding trails. Only minute’s away Santa Cruz beach boardwalk offers one of the nation’s oldest and last amusement parks on the beach. Join an ocean fishing or whale watching excursion. Get up close and personal with the wildlife in the Monterey Bay National Marine sanctuary on a kayak. An angler can also choose lake or stream fishing. Wine tasting tours of local vineyards is a great way to get the real flavor of Santa Cruz. Beach combing, tide pooling, bird watching, golfing, skate parks so much to do so little time…..

Warning: It is not advisable to take large rigs up highway 9 from the Santa Cruz area. Take Highway 17 North to Mt Hermon road.
From San Francisco. Take I280 S. toward San Jose go 34 miles. Merge onto CA85 S. toward Gilroy go 7.8 miles. Merge onto CA17 S. toward Santa Cruz go 18.7 miles. Take the Mt. Herman Rd. go. 3.8 miles. Right on Graham Hill Road go 0.2 miles. Left on CA, Highway 9 go 1.3 miles. Entry to park is on the left side.
Following Route 1 From North. From San Francisco on highway 1 S. go approximately 63 miles. Merge Highway 17 N. bound go 3.5 miles. Take exit 3 merge onto Mt. Herman Rd. go 3.8 miles. Right on Graham Hill Road go 0.2 miles. Left on CA, Highway 9 S. go 1.3 miles. Entry to park is on the left side.
From south San Luis Obispo Take US101 N. go 131 miles. Exit left onto Espinosa Rd. W. North of Salinas go 4.9 miles. Turn right onto highway 183 N, go 2.4 miles. Continue onto Highway 1 N. go 25.5 miles. Exit Highway 17 N. go 3.1 miles. Take exit 3 merge onto Mt. Herman Rd., go 3.8 miles. Turn right on Graham Hill Rd. go 0.2 miles. Turn left Highway 9 S. go 1.3 miles. Entry to park is on left hand side.
Following Route 1 North up to Santa Cruz. Exit Highway 17 N. go 3.1 miles take exit 3 merge onto Mt. Herman Rd., go 3.8 miles., Turn right on Graham Hill Rd. go 0.2 miles. Turn left Highway 9 S. go 1.3 miles. Entry to park is on left hand side.
